Lake Side Lodge Pääskylä
Romantic and remote, but still within two hours of Helsinki and one hour of Tampere, the luxury self-catering home «Lake Side Lodge Pääskylä» is far away from city life, noise and stress. The location, bordered by finnsih nature and untamed woodlands, at the secluded shores of the Lake Ihanainen (the Beautiful), makes Lake Side Lodge Pääskylä a blissful Finnish retreat.
Pääskylä means in Finnish language Swallows nest. As the house was built, almost done but still without windows, a pair of swallows chose the attic as their breeding site. As not to disturb them, we waited with the installation of the windows until the fledglings and their parents took off. This is how the house got its name.
Luxurious furnishings, gentle tones and a vibrant garden that takes you down to the private beach with its own private swimming pier makes Lake Side Lodge Pääskylä a snug and intimate home away from home.
Escape the hubbub of everyday life to this luxury home away from home in the Finnish lake district next to the small hamlet Rautajärvi, where tranquility promises only to be disturbed by the waves of the lake, the wind in the treetops and the songs of the birds.
Here you can spend your holidays tucked away in tranquility, spending your time at the shores of the Ihananinen Lake, with long walks in to the deeps forest of the Laippanmaa or just with reading your favorite book next to the fireplace.
Despite the off-the-beaten-track feel, Lake Side Lodge Pääskylä is perfectly set for various activities, such as swimming, rowing, hiking, wild life observation, skiing and cross-country skiing and also for cultural activities in the vibrant cities of Tampere, Lahti and Helsinki.

The Finns believe that each Sauna has its own „Sauna Tonttu“ (Sauna spirit). The Sauna Tonttu does not tolerate any kind of dispute, improper behavior or swearing in the Sauna. Otherwise, the steam (Löyly) will be poor forever. Please follow the Tonttu’s rules, so everybody can enjoy a good Sauna also in the future!
